Healing the LOVE ADDICTION – Day 1

Excerpts from the Tantra teachings on Inner Union towards enlightenment.
For all those who perceive Tantra teachings to be all about sex positions & nudity, this will be a paradigm shift in your perspective!

Are you :-
– Needy & obsessive
– Constantly into future fantasies,
– Feel unworthy,
– Checking phone every 5 seconds for a reply/text,
– People-pleasing,
– Mould yourself to fit your partner,
– Want a partner to rescue & fulfill you,
– Struggling to be on your own,
– Feeling rejected easily.

These are all signs of Love Addiction (anxious attachment), which stems from childhood due to abuse or emotional/physical neglect.
The child (or adult) then needs to grasp onto love to fill the paces that feel unloved or unsafe; and hold onto love to avoid the pain of rejection.

The IRONY is, a Love Addict will usually attract a Love Avoider – the perfect coupling, attracted through unconscious wounding.

Clinginess pushes the partner away, re-creating what the Love Addict’s nervous system is used to; *“forcing them to turn within and heal their fear of abandonment & rejection”*

The first step in healing Love Addiction is *awareness* of the pattern.

Tomorrow I’ll post some steps on how you can begin to heal this unhealthy attachment style, create more confidence within and step towards secure attachment in relationship.
